CAWBL releases its first Annual Report, highlighting the early stages of our efforts to advance work-based learning as a global system.
At CAWBL, we advance a simple but powerful idea: learning happens through contribution.
Our focus is on developing the infrastructure that makes that learning visible, validated, and portable across systems, sectors, and borders. We are a small, dedicated team building infrastructure that delivers big impact for work-based learning.
What We’re Seeing
Across Canada and beyond, there is growing recognition that:
- Talent already exists within the workforce
- People develop valuable learning, skills, and knowledge through work and lived experience.
- What’s missing is the ability to capture, validate, and recognize that learning at scale
This is the space CAWBL is actively building into.
Growing a Global Network
Over the past year, we have continued to develop partnerships across Canada and internationally — working with organizations, governments, and practitioners who see the need for a more coherent approach to work-based learning, skills recognition, and workforce development.
These partnerships are not just collaborations — they are part of a broader effort to build a shared system that supports contribution as a valid and recognized source of knowledge.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Our calendar is already filling, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.
CAWBL will be participating in work, speaking engagements and conferences across:
- Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
- Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
- Boulder, Colorado, USA
- Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA
- …more to be announced!
We’re looking forward to connecting with others who are working at the intersection of learning, work, and recognition.
